VOID

VOID

Void is a collection of compositions that discuss the role that women fill in men’s lives.

Void is meant to illustrate the absolute insignificance of the individualized woman. The magazine illustrations are intentionally crafted to showcase an idealized female form. The layers are filled with text behind the cutouts to demonstrate what exists in the absence of female identity and integrity. It doesn’t matter what she is wearing, if she has makeup on, or if she has a ring on her left hand, she will still be accessory to a man. The cutout strips these women of their identity and they become a “commodity”, an “object”, a man’s “property”, and “sex”. They are, in their very design, in servitude to the will and want of their observer.
