MANIPULATIONS

MANIPULATIONS

Manipulations is a series of collage compositions that examine the restraint and control that men impose on women’s bodies and their actions. The imagery was gathered from lifestyle magazines from the ‘60s. The architecture of this medium lends itself to stacking the layers upon each other rather than weaving them together. This reflects the idea that these masculine hands are an imposition as opposed to being an offering.
